Sweden’s best world championship results came in 2005 and 2007 when the Lady Crowns earned bronze medals. The team gets a boost with forward Hanna Olsson joining the squad in Utica after missing most of the season in Sweden’s SDHL. Olsson and Hilda Svensson power the offense, each scoring 11 points in Brampton last year. Josefin Bouveng comes off a strong season at the University of Minnesota, as well.

The Danish won’t have veteran forward Josefine Jakobsen, a member of the national program for 15 years. Captain Nicoline Jensen assumes the leadership role, with four players from the U.S. collegiate ranks on the roster in forwards Frederikke Foss (Maine) and Sofia Skriver (Mercyhurst) and defender Sofie Skott Dahl (Vermont).

Denmark’s fourth collegiate player is goalie Emma-Sofie Nordstrom, who led St. Lawrence to the NCAA tournament. Sweden will lean on goalie Emma Söderberg, who backs up U.S. netminder Aerin Frankel with Boston of the PWHL.

    Regional restrictions may apply.
