There will be no Triple Crown winner this year, but Rich Strike is back after skipping the Preakness.

Rich Strike was the surprise winner of the Kentucky Derby after entering the race as a replacement and being an 80/1 underdog. It was a longshot, but it made a huge kick in the final stretch to pull off the shocking win.
The Belmont, though, will be missing the winner of the Preakness. Early Voting won the Preakness with a time of 1:54.54, but will skip the Belmont as it has no chance to win the Triple Crown.
Epicenter will also skip the race after being the favorite in both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. It didn’t win either of those races and won’t take a shot at the third leg of the Triple Crown.
The favorite for the Belmont is now We the People at 2/1 while Rich Strike is a much better betting favorite than it was at the Kentucky Derby at 7/2.
