The Pittsburgh Pirates (13-11) snapped a five-game skid on Monday and beat the Milwaukee Brewers (14-8) again on Tuesday for their first consecutive victories since taking three straight from April 6-8. On Wednesday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh the Pirates look to clinch their four-game set with Milwaukee, which came into the series with a 10-2 road mark.

Andrew McCutcheon, for the second straight game, led off the bottom of the first with a home run and Connor Joe singled home a run in the sixth to lift Pittsburgh to a 2-1 victory on Tuesday night. Left-hander Bailey Falter stymied Milwaukee on just three hits over seven innings.
The Brewers’ lone tally came on Gary Sánchez’ solo home run to lead off the eighth, finishing Falter’s night. In the two losses at Pittsburgh, Milwaukee totaled just three runs and eight hits.
Left-hander Josh Fleming (1-0) serves as the opener for the Pirates on Wednesday. In 10 appearances, Fleming has a 1.74 ERA and 1.065 WHIP in 10.1 innings. The Brewers also deployed right-hander Bryse Wilson (2-0). He owns a 3.29 ERA and 0.878 WHIP in 13.2 innings.
