Cody Bellinger also added a blast in the first inning as the Cubs scored five in the opening frame and never looked back. With the win, the Cubs now sit at 14-9 on the season and they are 0.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers for the top spot in the National League Central. The Cubs will hand the ball to Jameson Taillon in the second game of the series. Taillon threw well in his first start of the season on Friday. He went five innings, giving up just one run in an 8-3 win over the Miami Marlins.
