Juarez secured a summer coup when they appointed Liga MX royalty in Ricardo Ferretti, but the coach is still seeking his first competitive win at the club as they head to Guadalajara in Week 3 of the Apertura. Hosts Chivas got their first win of the campaign on the board after beating Puebla 2-0 last time out, although the resurgence isn’t safe just yet as they go in search of a first home win this term.

What TV Channel is Guadalajara-Juárez on?

Tuca’s quest for a first win at the Juarez helm continues in Zapopan, where TUDN and FSN (platform only) will televise Saturday’s showdown. You can live stream Liga MX matches on fuboTV.

On the same weekend that Barcelona confirmed Lionel Messi will not be signing a new contract at the Camp Nou, another South American icon is approaching his own crossroads in Juarez. Brazilian native Ferretti—who once managed Chivas for four years—has endured a difficult start following his move to the border city and is 0-2 in Liga MX thus far. In Tuca’s defense, he’s faced two lurking Apertura threats in Toluca and Atlas, the latter of whom look particularly promising in these early exchanges of the campaign:

But an aggregate goal record of 1-5 from their first two games doesn’t read well, and sealing up that leaky backline in particular will be a priority travelling to Estadio Akron. It bodes well for the guests that Chivas were bested 2-1 at home to Atlético San Luis in their season-opener, even if Juarez are one of only three teams in the Apertura yet to claim a point.

Victor Manuel Vucetich got his side’s season off the ground with a 2-0 victory away to Puebla in Week 2, thanks to second-half strikes from Manuel Mayorga and Isaac Brizuela. It’s not a new thing for home form to be the greater concern for Vucetich at Guadalajara, and it’s only been three months since Ferretti drew 0-0 in Zapopan while at the Tigres UANL helm.

Even replicating that result would be a step in the right direction for the Liga MX legend, although it really wouldn’t hurt Juarez’s hopes of moving off the base of the standings if they were to get a goal.
