It wasn't the most dominant run by Team USA. It didn't have to be as the U.S. men's basketball team won gold in the Tokyo over France. It was a chippy game and France was in it the entire fourth quarter only down with one possession with 10 seconds left. It was a redemption match for Team USA as they struggled in the exhibition matches before the Olympics even began and then they lost the opener of the preliminary group matches against France. Even in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup they finished in an unremarkable seventh place in a team led by Greg Popovich. This marks the fourth straight gold medal for Team USA. They were doubted and dismissed most of the way but in the end were able to gel just in time.

It was really through the returning Olympians from London that led the way. First of all, Kevin Durant willed this team to the top. He scored 30 in the 2012 London gold medal game, he scored 30 in the 2016 Rio gold medal game and he scored 29 in this game. The Slim Reaper was the Tokyo Olympics MVP for the men and he is officially the greatest men's basketball Olympian ever. Draymond Green was also in those London games and even though he didn't put up any points in the final, he proved tremendous defense, a great block that thwarted a clutch free throw in the final minute and became a vocal leader in this locker room. The newcomer Jayson Tatum also provided an important 19 points in the victory. Once again Team USA is on top of the basketball world even if it didn't look pretty early on.

For the last day of competition you won't want to miss the U.S. women's team take on Olympics host Japan. They got their by absolutely dominating Serbia in the semifinals 79-59. They are the United States' most dominant team in Olympics history in any sport. They haven't lost in the Olympics since 1992. You think even once, they'd have an off game even in the early rounds of the tournament. Instead, if they win in Tokyo, they will earn their seventh gold medal. That would equal the U.S. men's streak from 1936-68. The U.S. women keep finding ways to make history. Besides all of that, it's the last day of competition for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics so most of the competitions are finals. Don't miss a moment with fuboTV.

As of writing, the United States has the most medals with 100 with 32 of those being gold. China is second with 81 with 37 of those being gold. For the most up to date medal tracker, click here.
