The Houston Rockets had the best odds to get the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft back in the lottery in June but it was the Detroit Pistons who got lucky. They will be drafting first overall since 1970 when they drafted Hall of Famer Bob Lanier. They are hoping to replicate that kind of legacy instead of their recent draft history. They haven't drafted an All-Star since 2012. They happened to draft two that year in Andre Drummond and Khris Middleton. Of course neither of those two are on the Pistons now and the later just won an NBA title and is on the U.S. men's basketball team competing in the Tokyo Olympics. Could Cade Cunningham be the answer to their woes really stemming from their back-to-back Finals appearances in 2004-05?
