How to Watch Live Game 6: Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Clippers
Paul George got the Los Angeles Clippers back in this series against the Phoenix Suns. Can they keep the momentum rolling and force a Game 7? Rick D’Elia/EPA

In the same way that the Los Angeles Clippers should have won Game 4 at home, it seemed like there was no way they could stop the Phoenix Suns from winning Game 5 at home. None of that happened of course and the Clippers are on the comeback in yet another series in these playoffs. Chris Paul is all to weary of blowing 3-1 series leads several times as a member of the the Clippers. But LA coach Tyronn Lue is the master of comebacks most famously coming back from a 3-1 series deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors.

There should be something said about Lue’s ability to recollect his team after their best player Kawhi Leonard has been out since Game 5 of the semifinal series against the Utah Jazz. Injuries have been the story of these entire playoffs as a whole. While the Eastern Conference Finals are now without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young, the Western Conference Finals have been relatively stable expect for Devin Booker breaking his nose. Ya know, no big deal or anything.

Booker hasn’t let that slow him down though as he scored a team high 31 points in a sound win by the Clippers in the last game. Paul played well too but the key for this team seems to be if Deandre Ayton dominates at the boards and also scores over 20 points. He had more rebounds than points last game with 11 and 10 respectively. The Suns can steal this game on the road and close out this series if they can get Ayton more involved.

As for the Clippers, you wish for their sakes that they could start a series off well. They always seem to be playing from behind. But they keep showing resilience especially when they were heavily unfavored heading back to Phoenix down 3-1. Paul George played won of the best playoff games of his career scoring 41 and got some key contributions from Marcus Morris who is dealing with a knee injury of his own. He scored 22 and the Clippers even got 15 off the bench from hopefully a revitalized Boogie Cousins. The Suns had no answers for them in Game 5 no matter how often they changed the size of their lineup.

Now with this series headed back to Los Angeles, this definitely seems like a winnable game for the Clippers and somehow this could be pushed to a Game 7. Just a couple days ago this didn’t seem like a series at all and looked like it was going to be a rout for the Suns. Winning this series without Kawhi Leonard would be a miracle feat and easily the greatest accomplishment in franchise history. Coach Lue has definitely been the difference and even if they don’t win this series, the future looks bright for the Clips for really the first time ever.
