On Monday night, the Arizona Diamondbacks and St. Louis Cardinals meet at Busch Stadium to begin their second head-to-head series of the year.
In a series opener on Monday night, the St. Louis Cardinals (9-13) host the Arizona Diamondbacks (11-12) at Busch Stadium to kick off a three-game series. This will be the second series of the year between these two teams. They played a week and a half ago in Arizona in another three game set. The Cardinals won the first game of that series 9-6, but then the Diamondbacks came back with a pair of victories in low-scoring games, winning 3-2 and 5-3 to close out the series.

Since that series, the Diamondbacks have gone 3-4. After dropping a three-game series with the Cubs at home that included two extra-inning games, Arizona split a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants in San Francisco over the weekend. That was the first series of a 10-game road trip for Arizona. That includes a 5-3 win last time out on Sunday.
The Cardinals will send righty Lance Lynn to the mound for Monday’s game. Lynn is 1-0 with a 2.18 ERA to start the season. He’ll be countered by Diamondbacks righty Brandon Pfaadt, who is 1-1 with a 5.32 ERA.
