Oklahoma is one game away from advancing to the next round of the College World Series and Virginia Tech will do everything in its power to deny the Sooners.
Oklahoma is one step closer to the National Championship it’s been chasing all season after winning game one against Virginia Tech in last night’s Super Regional. The Sooners won a close 5-4 game to move to 41-21 on the season and the loss drops the Hokies to 44-13.

Oklahoma put up one run in the top of the first to take the early lead in the game. Another two runs in the top of the second had the team feeling good, but looking for a more comfortable lead. Two runs in the top of the sixth gave the Sooners a 5-0 lead seemingly securing the win.
The Hokies had a stronger will, however, and started battling back. The team put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead down to three. Two more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning brought the game to within one. While the Hokies may have come up short this time, tomorrow is a new day and it is guaranteed they won’t go down without a fight.
This Super Regional is exactly what baseball fans look forward to every spring. Tight games that come down to strong play offensively and defensively is what can be expected from here on out. Tune in to see if Oklahoma can secure advancement to the next round today.
