The Mets are opening a six-game road trip on Saturday after winning their last two at home against the Cardinals earlier this week.
New York came into Saturday 26-14 and No. 1 in the NL East. The Mets did lose ace Max Scherzer for six to eight weeks with an injury, but they are still playing great.
The Rockies will be looking to slow them down as they try and build off their 5-3 win over the Giants on Wednesday.
Even with the win, the Rockies have lost eight of 10 and have dropped under .500 at 18-19 on the season.
Saturday evening, they will send Austin Gomber to the mound in the second game of the doubleheader. Gomber is just 2-3 on the season with a 4.38 ERA. The Rockies have lost his last two starts but will look to reverse that trend on Saturday night.
