Kenny and company succumbed 1-0 in Armenia in their Group B1 opener before mirroring that result at home to Ukraine on Wednesday, where substitute Viktor Tsygankov scored the only goal.
The Scots have lost just one of their last eight competitive outings and travel to the Aviva with a spring in their step, while the Irish dressing room is surely a more dour place to be.
Despite the recent disappointments, Kenny assured he isn’t feeling the pinch at present.
That could change if Ireland’s point-less start to the competition persists, but Scotland will have to seal its first victory in Dublin since 2000 in order for that to be the case.
Kenny is sweating on the fitness of several defenders as he hopes Everton’s Seamus Coleman overcomes a groin complaint to feature, while Sheffield United’s John Egan is a doubt.
