The Padres are coming off of a home series against the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend. They picked up a 6-3 win on Sunday, thanks in part to a home run and two RBI performance from second baseman Xander Bogaerts, who went two for four in the game.
The Rockies were also at home this weekend, against the Seattle Mariners. They split a doubleheader on Saturday, winning the first game 2-1 in 10 innings before losing the second half 10-2.
Righty Dylan Cease will start this game for the Padres. He’s 2-1 with a 1.99 ERA through four starts, with a 0.93 WHIP and 27 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. He’ll be opposed by Rockies lefty Austin Gomber.
