Avalanche look to close the gap in the division race in playoff preview against the Oilers
Trailing the Central Division lead by three points with six games to play, the Colorado Avalanche wrap up a three-game road trip tonight inside Rogers Place as they take on the Edmonton Oilers for the second of their three meetings this season. The Oilers have lost four of their last six games but are inching closer to locking up a playoff spot for the fifth consecutive season. Reigning NHL MVP Connor McDavid, who is three assists shy of 100 for the season, had his eight-game points streak snapped in Wednesday’s loss to Dallas and was held without a point in his only appearance against Colorado this season.
