Baylor and Texas will meet for game two of their Big 12 series on Saturday afternoon.
Top-ranked Texas will host No. 24 Baylor on Saturday afternoon at Getterman Stadium as the teams play in the second game of their Big 12 series. The Bears have struggled in conference play this season and bring a record of 5-11 against Big 12 opponents and a record of 22-15 overall. Last night in the series opener, Baylor struggled to connect at the plate and ultimately fell 14-1 in six innings to the Longhorns. Texas held the Bears to just four hits and the only RBI was credited to Shaylon Govan when she was walked in the fifth to score Kaci West. RyLee Crandall was credited with the loss after pitching five innings and giving up five earned runs while striking out one batter.

The Longhorns bring a four-game win streak into Saturday’s game which puts their overall record at 33-6 and their conference record at 12-4. Last night’s win was powered by Ashton Maloney and Mia Scott as they each went 3-for-4 at the plate and combined for four RBI. Two of Scott’s RBI came from a two-run shot in the first to score herself and Maloney and take an early 2-0 lead. Teagan Kavan improved to 12-2 on the season in the circle, pitching five innings in which she only gave up two runs while striking out six batters.
