Charlotte and NC State will meet in non-conference softball action on Tuesday night.
Charlotte will travel cross-state to take on NC State on Tuesday night in a mid-week non-conference softball matchup at Dail Softball Stadium. The Wolf Pack come into Tuesday night’s game with an overall record of 18-12 and a conference record of 1-8 so far. The team has lost three games in a row with the most recent being a 2-0 loss to Notre Dame on Sunday. Taylor Ensley and Hannah Goodwin each finished the game with two hits, but they were left stranded. The team finished the game with six hits, but were unable to get any of those runners home. Madison Inscoe pitched a complete game and struck out eight batters while only giving up one earned run. She moved to 5-5 on the season with the loss.

The 49ers bring an overall record of 17-12 and a conference record of 6-3 into Tuesday night’s non-conference matchup. The team’s most recent game was played against East Carolina in a nine-inning battle that resulted in a 4-2 loss. Arianna Rodi had two RBI on her one hit of the game which was a two-run homer to left-center in the sixth inning. The hit gave the team a 2-1 lead, but ECU tied things up in the seventh to force extra innings. The Pirates’ Annie Kate Dalton ended up hitting a two-run shot in the ninth to secure the win. Brooke Bowling moved to 2-1 on the season with her first loss as she pitched 0.2 innings and gave up two earned runs.
The last time NC State and Charlotte met was in 2022 and the game resulted in a 9-4 victory for NC State.
