    No. 12 Wake Forest (35-16) extended its winning streak to eight games with a victory on Saturday. On Sunday, the Demon Deacons look to close out a three-game sweep at home against No. 2 Clemson (37-12). The Tigers, at 17-9 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, still lead the Atlantic Division by two games over Florida State, while Wake Forest improved to 14-12 and moved into fourth place in the Atlantic. The Demon Deacons, likely to receive a third consecutive NCAA tournament bid, reached the College World Series last season for the first time since its lone national championship in 1955. Clemson returned to the NCAA tourney last year after a four-year absence.

    Wake Forest scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth for a come-from-behind 8-5 victory on Saturday evening. Seaver King’s two-run double down the left field line gave Wake the lead before Jack Winnay followed with a two-run single. Winnay added a two-run homer earlier in the game and Nick Kurtz also went deep. Kurtz slashes .329/.542/.822 with 20 home runs while King leads the team with 61 RBI.

    Tristan Bissetta hit a two-run homer for the Tigers in the third and Jacob Jarrell staked them to a 5-4 lead with a solo shot in the seventh. Alden Mathes hits .333/.460/.529, with Blake Wright powering the offense with 19 homers and 66 RBI.

    Junior left-hander Josh Hartle (5-2) gets the call in the series finale for the Demon Deacons. In 58.1 innings, Hartle posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.63 WHIP with 63 strikeouts. Clemson calls on freshman right-hander Aiden Knaak (4-0). Over 63 innings, Knaak owns a 2.57 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 82 strikeouts.
