Hamlin starts eighth on Sunday after Larson and Bubba Wallace locked up front-row starting positions. Larson won the spring race at Martinsville — known as The Paperclip for its elongated-oval shape — in dominant fashion. Leading the final 30 laps, Larson finished 4.142 seconds ahead of Logano at the checkered flag.

Truex enters the race with a 14-point lead in the driver standings over Larson, with Hamlin 18 points back. Ty Gibbs is fourth with a 34-point gap and Blaney enters the race with a 41-point gap.

Martinsville Speedway, which opened in 1947 and hosted its first NASCAR race in 1950, is renowned for its flat asphalt and concrete layout. The straights have no banking while the turns are banked at just 12 degrees.
