Custer has started at the pole two other times this season and is tied with rookie Jesse Love with three poles overall this season. Despite not winning a race through the first 10 races this season, Custer has finished in the top 16 in every race and in the top 10 in eight of the races.

That consistency has Custer in second place with 393 total points this season. He is just one point off of Smith for the top spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season. The rest of the top five in points heading into today’s race are Austin Hill (377 points), Love (337 points) and Justin Allgaier (313 points).

Other drivers to keep an eye on here today are John Hunter Nemechek who won the pole and led the most laps last season as well as Kyle Larson, who won the only race on this track last season.
