Zac Gallen and the Arizona Diamondbacks will take the mound against George Kirby and the Seattle Mariners on Friday night.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will head on the road this weekend for a three-game series with the Seattle Mariners starting with game one on Friday night at T-Mobile Park in Washington. This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season. The Diamondbacks enter this series with a 12-14 record overall sitting as the No. 3 team in the National League West division. They are 3.5 games back from the divisional-leading Los Angeles Dodgers despite losing two of three games in their last series against the St. Louis Cardinals on the road. The game they won though was blown open 14-1. Three different players homered in that win including Christian Walker. The Mariners come into this game with a 13-12 record this year. They are on top of the American League West with a half-game lead over the Texas Rangers after winning two of three games against them on the road in the team’s last series.

Zac Gallen will take the mound in the first inning to start the game for Arizona. The right-hander is 3-1 this season with a 3.00 ERA on 27 hits with 32 strikeouts through 27.0 innings pitched. His last outing was his first loss going 5.0 innings with five earned runs and six strikeouts in a 7-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
George Kirby will be the next up in the rotation for Seattle to start this series. The right-hander is 2-2 this year with a 5.33 ERA. He has allowed 30 hits with 26 strikeouts in 25.1 innings. He blasted through five scoreless innings in his last start with seven strikeouts that ended in a 2-1 loss in the 10th innings to the Colorado Rockies.
