The Baltimore Orioles go for their third win in a row and the series win on Saturday afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Orioles won the opener on Friday 4-2 to end the Diamondbacks’ four-game winning streak. With the win, the Orioles stayed in first place in the AL East but the situation is precarious as Baltimore only leads the New York Yankees by a half game. The Orioles won the opener on a solid start from Cole Irvin who gave up two runs and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings. The bullpen held tight including traditional closer Craig Kimbrel pitching a scoreless seventh inning after some recent bumps in the road. Gunnar Henderson hit an RBI double in the seventh to open up the game and give Baltimore the cushion it needed for the bullpen to put the game away.

Baltimore is favored by a -170 line in Game 2 when they will start lefty John Means. The Orioles put righty Grayson Rodriguez on the IL with elbow inflammation and in the meantime called up Means. It was immediately a strong move as Means had a great in his season debut. Means went seven innings with eight strikeouts without giving up a run against the Cincinnati Reds last week. Ryne Nelson will go for the Diamondbacks. The righty is 2-2 with a 5.23 ERA.
