The Los Angeles Dodgers (9-4) and Minnesota Twins (3-5), both division champions in 2023, continue their three-game series at Target Field in Minneapolis on Tuesday night. The Dodgers struck first with a win on Monday, handing Minnesota its third straight loss. The Twins. 0-3 at home in the early going, lost right-handed reliever Daniel Duarte to the 15-day injured list on Monday with a strained right triceps. He is 1-0 in two appearances, allowing a run in four innings. Minnesota recalled infielder José Miranda from Triple-A St. Paul to fill the open roster spot. Duarte is the ninth Twin to land on the IL already this season.

James Outman led off the seventh inning with a go-ahead home run and Ohtani went deep later in the frame. Left-hander James Paxton allowed two runs on three hits in six innings to improve to 2-0.
Manuel Margot’s two-run homer in the third inning was all the offense Minnesota could muster on Monday night. Bailey Ober struck out seven in five innings for the Twins but was removed after just 68 pitches.
Right-hander Louie Varland goes to the hill for Minnesota on Tuesday. He lost his first start of the season, allowing three runs in four innings against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 2. Right-hander Tyler Glasnow is 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA and 0.882 WHIP in 17 innings over three starts for the Dodgers.
