The United States, unscored upon through 2 games at the IIHF Women’s World Championships, takes on winless Finland on Saturday night
The United States, defending gold medalists at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championships, have yet to surrender a goal at this year’s tournament in Utica, New York. On Saturday night, the hosts take on Finland (0-2-0, 0 points) in a Group A game at the Adirondack Bank Center. The Finns scored just once in their two losses while the Americans own a 10-0 scoring margin and are tied with Canada atop the Group A standings with six points. Both teams will advance to the knockout round by virtue of being in Group A, however. Finland earned its way into the group at last year’s worlds in Brampton, Ontario, beating Sweden in the fifth-place game.
