Sweden already assured a spot in the knockout round and can complete Group B play unbeaten with a win over Germany on Monday
Sweden (3-0-0, 9 points) clinched a spot in the knockout round of the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championships on Sunday. On Monday, the Swedes look for an unbeaten finish to Group B play when they take on Germany (2-0-0, 6 points) at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica, New York. Sweden remained in Group B this year after a sixth-place finish at Brampton, Ontario, last year. The Germans stayed in the group following an eighth-place effort in Brampton. The top three finishers in Group B advance to the knockout stage while the last two drop to Division 1A next year and won’t compete at the 2025 worlds.
