The Cincinnati offense has struggled so far in spring training scoring just 139 runs in 24 games, the seventh lowest in the Cactus League leading to the team holding the third-lowest run differential in the preseason. On the mound for Cincinnati to try and snap this two-game losing streak is right-handed young arm Hunter Greene (1-2) who is making his fifth start. So far in spring training Greene has 17 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched with an 8.25 ERA. Logan Allen (1-1) will make his fifth start as well on the other side for Cleveland.
Allen is gearing up for his second season in the majors after going 7-8 in his rookie season. The left-hander has started four games so far in spring training with a 3.38 ERA in 13.1 innings with 11 total strikeouts. This will be a big game for Hunter as he works to earn a spot in the rotation for Cleveland this season.
Last season Cincinnati struggled down the stretch just missing the playoffs despite winning 82 games. They can build on that momentum as spring training comes to an end and the regular season gets started this week.
