The first ticket to the Pac-12 Championship will be punched by either UCLA or USC today.
When the brackets were released for the 2024 Pac-12 Championship this was the most anticipated matchup. Top seeded USC with its four Pac-12 titles in beach volleyball taking on second-seed UCLA, the defending champions, has the potential to be the match of the year at this stage in the season. The winner here moves on to the championship match while the loser will slide down to the Contenders Bracket to play one more match for the opportunity to set up a rematch for the 2024 Pac-12 Championship in college beach volleyball. That match in the Contenders Bracket will be against either third-seeded Stanford or sixth-seeded Arizona State who are the last remaining teams in the tournament.

This season the teams split the season series 2-2 in four matches. The Trojans won the first (4-1) and final matches (4-1), while the Bruins won the second (4-1) and third (3-2) during the regular season.
While this match is not for the championship, there will be history on the line for the teams both today and if they meet again in the championship match. In the seven years this tournament has existed the Trojans have won the championship four times with the Bruins winning the other three. With a Bruins win the teams are even at the top of the sport while a Trojans win gives them more breathing room at the top of the mountain.
To get to this match the Bruins defeated seventh-seeded Arizona (3-0) and the third-seeded Cardinal (3-0) in straight sets. For the Trojans, they dominated eighth-seeded Utah (3-0) then faced a tougher challenge against fourth-seeded California (3-1) to set up this potentially epic match.
