The Manchester Open, one of the biggest squash tournaments, kicks off on Wednesday.
The Manchester Open, a PSA Silver World Tour event that began in 2019, gets its 2024 tournament underway on Wednesday. The event, which takes place at the National Squash Centre in Manchester, features a number of matches on Wednesday in both the men’s and women’s draws. On the men’s side, the following eight matches are set to take place:
- George Parker vs Finnlay Withington
- Adrian Waller vs Lucas Serme
- Nathan Lake vs Declan James
- Juan Camilo Vargas vs Daniel Poleshchuk
- Yannick Wilhelmi vs Simon Herbert
- Ben Smith vs Patrick Rooney
- Rui Soares vs Nick Wall
- Martin Svec vs Gregoire Marche
Meanwhile, the women’s first round features eight matchups as well. They are:
- Aifa Azman vs Saskia Beinhard
- Katie Malliff vs Marta Dominguez
- Nour Aboulmakarim vs Haya Ali
- Chan Sin Yuk vs Ainaa Amani
- Millie Tomlinson vs Tesni Murphy
- Saran Ngheim vs Alicia Mead
- Torrie Malik vs Grace Gear
- Cindy Merlo vs Hollie Naughton
The winners will advance to the second round, where they’ll meet the eight players from each draw that received a bye to Thursday’s action.
