No. 10 Florida (28-4) already clinched its weekend Southeastern Conference series with No. 23 Kentucky (20-10) and can close out a sweep with a victory on Sunday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville. The Gators enter Sunday with a seven-game winning streak and a 4-1 record in SEC play while the Wildcats are still searching for their first conference victory after an 0-5 start. Eleven of the SEC’s 13 teams are part of the most recent Top 25 rankings released by ESPN.com and USA Softball, with Florida among the four top-10 squads. All 14 of Kentucky’s NCAA tournaments have come consecutively since 2009 while the Gators’ streak of tourney appearances stands at 20 in a row.

Florida won via the run rule on Saturday, taking a 9-1 victory in six innings. Reagan Walsh cracked a two-run homer in the sixth before pinch-hitter Baylee Goddard ended it with a solo shot. Ava Brown allowed just one hit to improve to 12-1 on the season. Skylar Wallace is hitting .482/.626/.928 with 34 RBI and 20 steals while Walsh paces the squad with 12 home runs and shares the lead of 39 RBI with Jocelyn Erickson.
The Wildcats led 1-0 in the first inning on Ally Hutchins’ RBI single but the Gators came back with three in the bottom of the frame and never looked back. Hutchins’ knock was the lone hit of the day for Kentucky. Rylea Smith slashes .400/.449/.667 and Erin Coffel leads the team with 10 home runs and 24 RBI.
Keagan Rothrock is 13-3 for the Gators in the circle with a 1.01 ERA and 0.75 WHIP to go with 110 strikeouts in 97.1 innings. Stephanie Schoonover took the loss on Saturday for Kentucky and is 10-5 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.44 WHIP, fanning 92 in 73.2 innings.
