The Maple Leafs are still pushing for playoff positioning. With a 7-3-0 stretch, they’ve started to catch up to the Florida Panthers for second place in the Atlantic Division. Florida is 3-5-2 in its last 10, and the Maple Leafs are now just three points back of the Cats with a game in hand.
New Jersey isn’t officially eliminated from playoff contention yet, but would need some serious help down the stretch to get there. The Devils are five points out of a playoff spot with four games to go, but have five teams between themselves and that spot.
