Vanderbilt and Missouri will complete their SEC series on Saturday in Nashville with men’s baseball action.
On Saturday afternoon, the final game in the SEC series between Missouri and No. 9 Vanderbilt will take place at Hawkins Field. The first two games went in the favor of Vanderbilt to bring Missouri’s overall record to 10-17 and their SEC record to 1-7. The team has now lost four games in a row with yesterday’s 4-0 loss moving the Tigers to last place in the SEC East standings. The Vanderbilt pitchers held Missouri to just one hit which came from the bat of Jeric Curtis in the third inning. While he was able to steal second following his hit, the team left him stranded. Logan Lunceford dropped to 1-2 on the season after pitching five innings and striking out five batters while giving up two earned runs.

The Commodores bring a three-game win streak into Saturday and will look to pull off the sweep against the Tigers at home. The team is now 22-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play for a spot in third place in the SEC East standings. Vandy finished yesterday’s game with nine hits from seven different players in the win. Davis Diaz and Jonathan Vastine each finished the game with two hits and Diaz had two RBI in the win. Bryce Cunningham improved to 4-1 on the season with a strong performance on the mound in which he pitched seven innings and struck out an impressive 12 batters. Cunningham only gave up one hit and walked two batters in his start.
