The Nationals took the opener 5-1 on Friday night for their third win in the last four games. The win got them over .500 on the season at 19-18 and has them in third place in the NL East. Saturday they will look to stay hot when they send Jake Irvin to the mound. Irvin comes into Saturday 2-3 with a 3.72 ERA on the season. The Nationals are 2-2 in his last four starts, but have lost five of his seven outings this season.

The Red Sox are needing another good outing from Criswell as they have been slumping over the last week.
The Red Sox will counter with Cooper Criswell as they try and even the series. Criswell has been very good so far this season as he comes into Saturday 2-1 with a 1.74 ERA. The Red Sox have won his last three starts and four of five on the season.
They have lost three in a row and six of their last seven to drop to 19-19 on the season. They had won four in a row before their slump, but are now trying to avoid falling under .500 for the first time since being 1-2 after three games.
