They jumped out to a 7-0 lead in just three innings mixing in runs from all over the field. Spencer Steer got the scoring off with a single in the second inning that was followed by the first home run of the season for the team from Nick Martini. The action continued in the next inning with Martini blasting his second home run of the game of the game with two on base. For his career Martini entered the season with eight total home runs in four seasons and is on pace for the best season of his career.

On the mound today for Cincinnati to try and start the season with back-to-back wins is right-hander Hunter Greene in season debut taking on left-handed veteran Patrick Corbin today.
Greene is coming off his second season in the majors where he started 22 games finishing 4-7 with 152 strikeouts and a 4.82 ERA. He has shown flashes for Cincinnati as a key member of the rotation this season and going forward. Greene has the opportunity to get Cincinnati off to an undefeated start and pick up his first win of the season today.
For Corbin, he hasn’t finished a season with a positive record since the 2019 season. He has gone just 41-64 in 138 starts since moving from the Arizona Diamondbacks to Washington five seasons ago.
