Nevada looks to complete a Mountain West Conference sweep on Friday when it takes on visiting New Mexico at Hixson Softball Park in Reno
Nevada (29-7) takes its seven-game winning streak into Friday’s Mountain West Conference series finale against New Mexico (10-29) at Hixson Softball Park in Reno. The Lobos have dropped five straight and are 2-6 in the MWC while the Wolf Pack leads the conference at 7-1. Nevada swept a Thursday doubleheader to clinch the series victory. The Wolf Pack haven’t gone to the NCAA tournament since 2009 and have never advanced beyond the regionals since reviving the program in 2003. New Mexico’s lone NCAA tournament bid came in 1983 after it played in the AIAW tournament in 1980 and 1981 before the NCAA sponsored the sport.
