No. 4 Oklahoma State (43-8) drew to within one game of the Big 12 Conference lead, winning its first road game at Oklahoma (45-5) in 27 years on Friday. That dropped the second-ranked Sooners into a tie with Texas for first place in the conference at 21-4, with the Cowgirls at 20-5 lurking in third place after their ninth consecutive victory. Oklahoma State’s streak of consecutive NCAA tournament appearances stands at seven and it has played in the last four Women’s College World Series. The Sooners haven’t missed the NCAA tourney since receiving their first bid in 1994 and are the three-time defending national champions.

Oklahoma scored in the first on a bases-loaded walk and picked up another run in the second inning on Kasidi Pickering’s infield single. Kinzie Hansen hits .430/.480/693 while Tiare Jennings provides the pop with 18 home runs and 55 RBI.
Kelly Maxwell (16-2) leads the Sooners with 105 innings pitched, posting a 1.80 ERA and 0.95 WHIP with 110 strikeouts. Lexi Kilfoyl has worked 136.1 innings for Oklahoma State, putting up a 1.13 ERA and 0.81 WHIP.
