Ethan Lege and Ole Miss will take the field against Cooper McMurray and Auburn on Saturday night.
Ole Miss will stay on the road for the second game of a three-game series against Southeastern Conference rival Auburn at Plainsman Park in Alabama. The Rebels are just over the .500 mark heading into this week with a 23-20 record overall and a 7-14 record against teams from the conference. Last week, they won a 9-4 single game against North Alabama in the middle of the week at home. They followed it up losing two of three games against conference and in-state rival Alabama by a combined score of 30-12. Left fielder Ethan Lege and third baseman Andrew Fischer have led the team at the plate this year. Lege is batting .327 with a .426 on-base percentage. He has 13 home runs and 38 RBIs on 50 hits. Fischer is batting .292 with a .414 on-base percentage with 15 home runs and 41 RBIs on 45 hits. The mound has been led by Mason Nichols who is 4-0 in three starts with a 3.14 ERA and 33 strikeouts with 10 earned runs in 28.2 innings.

The Tigers are 21-22 overall heading into this week with a 3-18 record against teams in the SEC. Last week, they opened up the week with an 11-1 win over Florida A&M at home. Last weekend, they lost two of three games against LSU by a total run differential of 13-9 including getting shut out in the first game of that series.
Cooper McMurray and Ike Irish lead the team in the batters’ box. First baseman McMurray is batting .329 with a .474 on-base percentage. He has 12 home runs and 49 RBIs on 48 hits in 146 at-bats. Irish, the team’s catcher, is batting .326 with an on-base percentage of .406 with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs on 46 hits.
