Cal will host Oregon State for the teams’ second Pac-12 series game on Saturday evening in women’s softball action.
On Saturday night, Oregon State will continue its California stay as the team takes on No. 20 Cal in the second game of the teams’ Pac-12 series at Levine-Fricke Field. The Beavers bring an overall record of 20-27 and a conference record of 8-14 into Saturday’s contest which puts them in eighth place in the Pac-12 standings. Oregon State is on a two-game losing streak after dropping last night’s series opener to Cal in a 9-0 loss in just five innings. Sarah Haendiges took the loss in the circle after giving up five earned runs in four innings of work. Oregon State was held to just three hits in the loss which came from Savanah Whatley, Grace Messmer and Eliana Gottlieb.

The Golden Bears are right above the Beavers in the Pac-12 standings and are currently 8-12 against conference opponents and 35-15 overall. The team has won three straight games and will look to finish out the regular season with two more which has the potential to move the team above Utah in the standings. Last night’s victory was led by Tianna Bell and Elon Butler as they each went 3-for-3 at the plate. Bell finished with two RBI while Mika Lee brought in four with a flyout in the fourth and a three-run homer to end the game in the fifth.
