Regional 1 in Albany will be back in action today for the champion of the region. The No. 3-seed Oregon State will take on the undefeated and No. 1-seed in the region, South Carolina, at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York. The Gamecocks have been rolling this season winning the regular season championship in the SEC along with the tournament championship and now they are searching for an NCAA Tournament championship without losing a game this season. They opened up play against No. 16-seeded Presbyterian and won 91-36 on the back of 21 points from Chloe Kitts. They moved on to take on No. 8-seed North Carolina and won by over 40 points in the second round of the tournament. MiLaysia Fulwiley led the team in scoring in that win with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting while Kamilla Cardoso grabbed 10 rebounds. In the Sweet 16, South Carolina took on No. 4-seed Indiana and gave it the fight of its life winning by just four points. Cardoso led the team in scoring with 22 points and seven rebounds in a dominant performance to advance the team to the elite eight.

The Beavers finished with seven losses this season which included bowing out of the conference tournament in the semifinals to Stanford. In the sweet sixteen, Oregon State upset No. 2-seed Notre Dame by just five points with Timea Gardiner leading the charge to the elite eight with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting.
