The final weekend of MLB spring training gives every team the opportunity to build more momentum heading into the regular season. This season the Baltimore Orioles (22-6) are at the top of the Grapefruit League and are rolling, winning seven of the last nine games. They have the best run differential in spring training between both leagues after finishing last season with the second-most wins in all of baseball. Baltimore takes on the Minnesota Twins (8-17), who won the American League Central last season also making the playoffs. In spring training this season Minnesota is in last place in the Grapefruit League, losing three straight games heading into today.

On the mound today is a matchup between Baltimore’s young right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (1-0) and Minnesota’s Joe right-hander Ryan (2-1). Both of these pitchers will be key members of the rotation this season.
So far in spring training Rodriguez has four starts with seven strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched. Rodriguez is 7-4 in 23 starts with 129 strikeouts with a 4.35 ERA in his rookie season last year and is building on that momentum in spring training this year. This is his final start of spring training heading into the season.
For Ryan, he is 26-19 for his career after making his professional debut in the 2021 season. Last year he was featured in 29 starts where he had 197 strikeouts. Both pitchers had strong years last season and are building towards another great run in the upcoming season after preparing in spring training.
