They’ve won five games in a row, with their most recent win – an 8-5 victory against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday – making them the first NHL team to reach the 50-win mark this season. On Monday night the Rangers will try to continue that winning streak when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins (32-30-11) at Madison Square Garden.

In their own division they’re only three points up on the Carolina Hurricanes, although they do have a game in hand. When looking at the Eastern Conference picture as a whole the Rangers have the same amount of separation as the Boston Bruins, who are tied in points and games played with the Hurricanes.

Meanwhile, the Rangers have just a one-point lead on the Dallas Stars in the President’s Trophy race. However, it is the Rangers that have a game in hand in that race.
