The Boston Red Sox look to clinch a series win on Tuesday night when they take on the Oakland Athletics. The Red Sox split their four-game weekend series with the Seattle Mariners and then came to Oakland on Monday and beat the A’s 9-0 in the opener of their three-game set. Tanner Houck was great on the mound to get the win. He went six innings, giving up just three hits, no runs and striking out 10. Jarren Duran led the way at the plate as he went 3-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Brayan Bello will take the mound in game two of the series. Bello went five innings in his first start to get the win over the Mariners on opening day.

The A’s will turn to Alex Wood as they look to even the series. Wood struggled in his first start as he went just three and a third innings and gave up six runs on seven hits in a loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
The A’s have not been good to start the year as a team. They lost three of four to the Guardians and now sit at 1-4 on the season.
They have been shut out twice already this season and have scored just 11 combined runs in their first five games.
