The Boston Red Sox look to complete a sweep of the slumping Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday at PNC Park
The Boston Red Sox (12-10) look to stay hot on the road Sunday when they can finish off a three-game sweep of the staggering Pittsburgh Pirates (11-10) at PNC Park. Boston’s 9-3 road record is second only to the 10-3 mark of the Cleveland Guardians in the American League. The Pirates, meanwhile, have lost five in a row and six of their last seven after a hot start. However, first baseman Triston Casas left Saturday’s game with discomfort in his left ribs, adding to the Red Sox injury woes. Third baseman Rafael Devers (knee) and outfielder Tyler O’Neill (concussion) missed Saturday’s game. Pittsburgh catcher Yasmani Grandal began a rehab assignment on Tuesday as he recovers from a foot injury.
