On the mound for Pittsburgh is right-handed veteran Chase Anderson (2-0) who is making his second start in spring training. He takes on Boston’s young right-hander Brayan Bello (0-1) who is making his fifth start of the preseason this year.
So far in spring training Anderson has been on fire with nine strikeouts in 11.0 innings pitched. He has a 2.45 ERA in his four appearances, controlling the game and playing like a veteran. He looks to round out spring training with another win heading into the regular season next week.
For Bello, he started 28 games last season to finish the season 12-11 overall. In his four spring training starts he also has 11 strikeouts in 13.0 innings pitched with a 4.85 ERA. Bello is in a position to have a breakout season this year for Boston and help lead the team back to the playoffs.
