Red Wings head to Nashville looking to tighten grip on wild card spot against the red-hot Predators
Winners of 14 of their last 16 games, the Nashville Predators return home to Bridgestone Arena today for a Saturday matinee matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. Currently holding the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, the Red Wings have rebounded from a six-game losing streak to win three of their last four games behind solid goaltending from James Reimer who has won each of his last three starts allowing just seven goals across those three victories. Home teams have dominated this series of late winning each of the last four meetings including their last meeting in Detroit where the Red Wings won in a shootout in late December.

Forsberg is Nashville’s all-time leading scorer tallying 277 goals for the Predators since making his NHL debut in 2012. In 22 career games against Detroit, Forsberg has nine goals and 11 assists with two goals coming in the Preds 5-4 loss at Detroit earlier this season.
Detroit winger Lucas Raymond has posted a career-high 60 points this season and is two points away from 100 for his career. The fourth overall selection by the Red Wings in the 2020 NHL Draft, Raymond is on a six-game points streak with three multi-point games in that span.
The Red Wings have not won in Nashville since February of 2021, a span of four consecutive games.
