The Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies continue their 3-game set at Citizens Bank Park after an extra-innings affair on Monday

The Cincinnati Reds (3-1) got back on the winning track Monday night and can wrap up a win in their three-game road series with the Philadelphia Phillies (1-3) on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. Left fielder Spencer Speer has blasted his way out of the gate, going 6-for-15 with a homer and seven RBI in just four games for the Reds. Philadelphia star Bryce Harper still seeks his first hit of the season, starting the year 0-for-11 with five strikeouts as he adjusts to full-time duty at first base. The Phillies are last in the National League with 12 runs scored through four games.

Steer clubbed a 10th-inning grand slam to lift Cincinnati to a 6-3 victory on Monday night. Christian Encarnacion-Strand tied the game at 2-2 with a two-run single in the sixth after Philadelphia got two runs off Reds starter Andrew Abbott in the bottom of the first.

Alec Bohm’s two-run double in the first put the Phillies on the board first before they were shut down until getting a single run in the bottom of the 10th on Trea Turner’s infield single. Christopher Sánchez struck out eight in five innings before failing to get an out in the sixth and losing the lead.

Right-hander Spencer Turnbull takes the ball for Philadelphia on Tuesday. He was 1-4 in seven starts for the Detroit Tigers last season, posting a 7.26 ERA and 1.677 WHIP in 31 innings. Right-hander Graham Ashcraft made 26 starts for the Reds in 2023, going 7-9 with a 4.76 ERA and 1.373 WHIP in 145.2 innings.
