The top-ranked college baseball team in the country is on the road this weekend. No. 1 Texas A&M will be (39-6, 15-6 SEC) in Baton Rouge, taking on LSU (29-17, 7-12 SEC) in a three-game series at Alex Box Stadium at Skip Bertman Field. The series begins on Friday night. The Aggies come into this game having won four of their last five games, including a 10-6 win over Tarleton State on Tuesday in their most recent game. Although the Aggies are the top-ranked team in the country they’re still chasing No. 2 Arkansas in the SEC West standings, one game back entering this weekend with three weeks to go until the SEC tournament.

On the other side, LSU is coming off of one of its best offensive performances of the season. The Tigers hosted Grambling State on Tuesday and won 26-2, with the mercy rule applied after seven innings. LSU recorded 17 hits in that game, including five home runs.

Last year, LSU won two of the three regular season game between these two teams. They met again in the SEC Tournament in an elimination game, which 10th-seed Texas A&M won over third-seed LSU 5-4.
