The Bird and Taurasi Show was at its apex in the Final Four two days ago with great guests, anecdotes from two of the greatest players to ever play the game and brutal honesty about what was happening on the court.
Clark heads into the championship game today averaging 30.0 points, 9.4 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game in the first five games of the tournament. She is coming off her most taxing and challenging game going 7-18 from the field with four turnovers and her lowest point total in the NCAA Tournament since her sophomore season against Creighton.
For the Gamecocks, the sting of losing 77-73 in the Final Four is still there. This season they have built a roster around Kamilla Cardoso with new faces in freshman MiLaysia Fulwiley, transfer Te-Hina Paopao and arguably the deepest team in the country. In the loss last season both Cardoso (14 points and 13 rebounds) and Raven Johnson (13 points) came off the bench, transitioning to being leaders of the team this season.
