JuJu Watkins and No. 1-seed USC will take the court against Paige Bueckers and No. 3-seed UConn tonight.
The No. 3 seed in Regional 3 in Portland, UConn, will take on the No. 1 seed in the same region, USC, at the Moda Center in Portland Oregon, in the Elite Eight of the Women’s NCAA Tournament tonight. The Trojans come into this game having dominated two of the three games in this tournament so far after winning the Pac-12 Tournament championship over Stanford. In the first round of the tournament, the team took on No. 16-seed Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and won by 32 points. The team’s best player, JuJu Watkins led the team in that first win with 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting and a team-high four assists. Rayah Marshall also had a double-double in that win with 10 points and 11 rebounds. In the second round, the top seed beat No. 8-seed Kansas by almost 20 points, 73-55. Watkins once again led the team dropping 28 points on 9-of-21 shooting and 11 rebounds with five assists leading the team in both of those as well. Either this weekend, the team took on No. 5-seed Baylor in the Sweet Sixteen and won 74-70 on the back of a 30-point performance from Watkins. Marshall had 11 points and 16 rebounds.

The Huskies from the Big East entered the tournament after winning the Tournament championship over Georgetown. They opened tournament play against No. 14-seed Jackson State and won by 22 points. Paige Bueckers had 28 points on 11-of-19 shooting and 11 rebounds in the win.
The No. 6-seed Syracuse was the team’s next victim winning that game by eight points. Bueckers once again led the team with 32 points and six assists. In the Sweet Sixteen, the team took down No. 7 seed Duke and won by 10 points with a team-high 24 points from Bueckers. Aaliyah Edwards also had 12 points and seven rebounds.
