Stanford hosts USC on Saturday in women’s college water polo action.
The Avery Aquatic Center is set to host the exciting weekend matchup between Stanford and USC on Saturday, in the first of three straight home games to close out the regular season. Stanford is coming off a 15-8 loss at No. 1 UCLA, which was only its second setback over 15 contests and snapped a five-match losing streak. Furthermore, Stanford and USC have combined to win the last 13 NCAA titles, fueling a rivalry that dominates the sport. However, the Cardinal has won seven of the last nine meetings overall, with six of those victories clinching a tourney title (2 NCAA, 2 MPSF, 2 Barbara Kalbus Invitational). The Trojans have won the last four MPSF regular-season tilts.

In 2023, Stanford (24-1, 5-1 MPSF) defeated USC 11-9 to secure its ninth NCAA title in school history and repeat for the first time since 2014-15.
Stanford avenged its only loss and closed out another stellar campaign which included a second straight MPSF crown and its best start to a season (16-0) since 2011.
Stanford’s 16-game winning streak to open the season was its longest overall since 2014.
Stanford has maintained its standing as one of the nation’s elite teams, thanks to multiple players emerging as team leaders and developing into offensive threats. Five players have scored at least 20 goals, an accomplishment that only Indiana (5) can match among MPSF teams.
