The Grand Rapids Rise host the Orlando Valkyries as the Pro Volleyball Federation season rolls into its 2nd half
The Grand Rapids Rise (6-7) try to get back to .500 and halt a two-game losing streak on Saturday night when they host the Orlando Valkyries (6-8) at Van Andel Arena. Grand Rapids holds the third spot in the standings for the seven-team league while the Valkyries are in fourth place, a half-game ahead of the Columbus Fury for the final playoff spot. The top four teams qualify for the postseason, with a $1 million prize pool to be awarded to the champion. The Atlanta Vibe (12-4) and Omaha Supernovas (11-5) have separated themselves from the rest of the PVF with a little more than a month remaining on the schedule.

Orlando swept the Fury in three straight sets on March 29, getting 17 kills from Adora Anae and 12 each from Shainah Joseph and Carly Skjodt. Joseph also recorded 14 digs while Wilma Rivera added 10 digs to go with 41 assists.
The Rise fell in four sets at Atlanta on Monday night. Emiliya Dimitrova notched 20 kills and 13 digs while Ashley Evans added 41 assists and 12 digs.
The Valkyries won the first meeting between the teams 3-1 in Orlando on March 1. The teams will square off again at Orlando on Thursday and at Grand Rapids on April 18.
