Harvard will host Virginia on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup in men’s lacrosse action.
On Saturday afternoon, No. 16 Harvard will host No. 2 Virginia in a top-25 matchup in Cambridge. The Crimson bring a two-game losing streak into Saturday’s game with an overall record of 6-2 and a conference record of 0-2 so far. The team’s most recent game was played against No. 14 Princeton and although the Crimson kept the game close, Princeton won 14-11. Logan Ip and Teddy Malone each scored hat tricks in the loss while Sam King finished the game with two goals and four assists for a six-point game. Christian Barnard was challenged often in net, but ended the game with 20 saves despite suffering the loss.

The Cavaliers have played well this season and bring an overall record of 8-1 into their final non-conference game of the season. The team has won five games straight with the most recent being a 14-4 win over Drexel last weekend. Payton Cormier led the offensive efforts for Virginia with six goals while Griffin Schutz finished with three goals in the win. Drexel was able to get off 35 shots in the game with 18 making it on frame, but Matthew Nunes was there in net to clean up and help his team to its fifth win in a row.
The Crimson last faced the Cavaliers a season ago in a high-scoring affair that ended in a 25-21 loss to the top-ranked Virginia squad.
